The thermal spring with a lake in Kalameny offers the possibility of pleasant and free relaxation in warm mineral water. It is located at the beginning of the Kalamenianska valley, behind the village of Kalameny, which lies 13 kilometres east of Ružomberok. From the village we follow the yellow tourist trail which will lead us directly to the lake, which is clearly visible directly from the road on the left side. From the church in the village the place is about 1 km away. It is accessible on foot, by car or by bicycle. In 1991-1992 an artificial borehole was drilled here and an artificial pond measuring approximately 20 × 10 metres was built around it. The water here reaches a pleasant temperature of 33 degrees Celsius. This allows bathing at any time of the year. The pond is about half a metre deep and covered with small pebbles at the bottom. The healing water springs from a depth of 500 metres, is slightly mineralised and its colour is slightly orange. There is also a small fountain created by a water spout. Here we can sit down and be massaged by this pressurized stream. The thermal water is particularly beneficial for the musculoskeletal system. The surroundings of the pond are a grassy area. The other bank is bordered by the Kalamenianka stream, which is separated from the thermal spring and the pond. The stream can be crossed on a wooden bridge. There are also several benches and a fireplace with seating near the pond. From the lake you can follow the yellow tourist trail to the ruins of Liptovský hrad, which was the highest castle in Slovakia and offers a breathtaking view of the surroundings.
As soon as you open your eyes, there are plenty of tourist activities and attractions within a stone's throw.
